Easy Ways To Upgrade Your Brand’s Social Presence
Despite the movie title, we can’t be everywhere doing everything all at once. But there are simple ways to upgrade your brand’s social presence without memorizing the newest algorithm (it’s already different). When clients work with us, the first thing we do is a full audit of their social channels to identify where we can improve and elevate their branding. The most common and low-lift ways to make your social brand visually appealing and immediately engaging. If you’re wondering where to start, take a peek behind our curtain and look at these six changes that will give your brand the boost it needs on social.
Update Your Bio
When was the last time you edited your bio across platforms? Is it easy for someone to understand exactly what you do in the 5 seconds it takes to read it? If not, it’s time to update. Look to your competition to see how they describe themselves, and think about how you describe the brand when people ask. Be concise, use emojis to punctuate things, and make sure you have a link directing people to at least your website—bonus points for email signups or products.
Make Your Brand Highlights Cohesive
Highlights are a great way to showcase behind-the-scenes footage, earmark frequently asked questions, or display important information for your brand followers. If you already have them, make sure they look cohesive and polished using your brand colors. You can easily access pre-made graphics for this in Canva and then change them into branded colors and fonts. This simple fix takes 10 minutes or less but will help your profile look pulled together and professional.
Update Your Images
A good rule of thumb is to update your header imagery once every quarter to reflect seasonal changes and current marketing objectives. Images should be high resolution and cropped accordingly. Things to ask yourself: Are the photos I’m using relevant to my business? Do they convey one or more of our core values or services? This goes for your FB, Linkedin, IG, or Pinterest headers. When was the last time you updated it? Is it still relevant to your business? Is it seasonal? Does it look dated?
Share To Stories
Are you sharing items to your stories at least 3 times a week? Stories are currently more engaged with than feed posts, so if you’re not sharing your posts, tagged content, or behind-the-scenes to your stories, consider this your sign. Try creating engaging fun stories with polls, quizzes, or question stickers and you’ll instantly see some lift in your engagement and will ensure your brand is staying top of mind to your followers.
UGC
All those pictures you’ve been tagged in of people enjoying your product? Use them! Reach out and tell them you love their image and would love to share it with credit. If they say yes, use that image to post to your feed as additional content (you didn’t have to create that!) and a bit of a testimonial to people using and enjoying your work.
Be Social
They don’t call it “social” media for nothin’. If you’re not actively engaging with both your current followers and potential followers (people with similar interests as your brand), you’re missing out. Reply to comments when someone takes the time to comment, message back when you get a DM, and comment and interact with followers of other accounts that have a similar following as you. By talking with and building community, you’ll expand your brand reach and create authenticity – nobody likes someone who shows up to the party but stands in a corner all night and doesn’t engage. Be social, reach out, and notice how it impacts those social metrics.
